WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Hi, my names Dario and I'm the founder of Sydney Vape Co, It all started for me a few years ago out the back of a Sydney nightclub at 3am. It was my first late night out after the lockout laws were introduced and my friends and I had nowhere to kick on. We were chatting amongst the smoker crowd when some sweet-smelling vapour wafted by. My friend turned to me and said, “You’ve gotta try this – it’s doughnut flavoured.” A few puffs in and I was hooked on the taste, not knowing at the time that this is where my journey would begin.
IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE
My partner and I later travelled to New Zealand to attend Kiwiburn, and during our stay in Wellington we witnessed a thriving vaping community. On impulse, I picked up my first vape. Having gone through several vendors, only a small handful of flavours truly stood out. I found some great local and international vendors selling decent e-liquids, but the issue I had was that they were premium vendors with hefty price tags and more often than not, there was only one or two flavours in their line that actually tasted good enough.
THE PILGRIMAGE
After being burned by too many lackluster flavours and a hole in my wallet, I decided to set out and create my own flavours. I spent countless nights looking through DIY community forums absorbing as much knowledge as possible on how to create premium e-liquid flavours. Over the next six months, I had tried over 200 concentrates from around the globe, searching for the best concentrates with which to make great tasting flavours.
BECOMING AN E-LIQUID MASTERCHEF
Aided by my knowledge of which concentrates topped the list, I put my research into practice. Flavour creation fast became my new obsession, a personal endeavour I undertook to enjoy my own vaping experience. I went through countless bottles creating and revising flavours – so many that my local vape retailer had to regularly re-stock as I bought all their empty bottles each time I went in.
MY E-JUICE BRINGS ALL THE BOYS TO THE YARD
Each time I went out, I took the opportunity to taste my flavours; whether I was driving to work, walking down the street or bar-hopping, I didn’t waste a minute. Going out meant I also bumped into other vapers and it wasn’t long until friends began reaching out to me in want of what I was vaping. Thus, turning my passion into a business soon became my mission.
